Areas of Practice

Following are the main legal areas focused on at the Law Office of Craig Anderson. However, if you have any legal question Craig can help and, if needed, direct you to the best possible resource.

With more than 38 years of experience in practicing law, Craig will discuss your situation and work with you in the way you prefer – having a trusted advisor with experience helps you navigate successfully through your legal issues and achieve the best possible outcome.

Trust & Estate Planning/Administration:
Estate planning has two main goals – to look after people and to look after assets. A basic will can look after assets, but only to a certain extent. Individuals, even with moderate assets – and families with minor children need to consider creating a complete estate plan containing several legal instruments to protect your financial assets, yourself, and your family.

You’ve been appointed an Executor or Personal Administrator for an estate. You are confused, overwhelmed – there is so much information to understand. See how Craig can help with his Services for Executors and Administrators.

Powers of Attorney:
A power of attorney is a legal document giving someone you choose the power to act in your place. This can be an extremely valuable tool in the event you become incapacitated or cannot for some reason represent yourself in private affairs, business, or some other legal matter.

Not all powers of attorney are the same and there are many reasons to invoke such a tool. You need an experienced advisor who can discuss and explain the advantages for your particular legal circumstance. With more than 38 years of legal experience with such documents and contracts, Craig can execute the right legal tool for your specific need or situation.

Advance Medical Directives:
An advance medical directive, also known as a living will, personal directive, advance health care directive, or advance decision, is a legal document used to specify what actions should be taken for one’s health if they are no longer able to make decisions for themselves due to illness or incapacity.

Created separately or part of an overall estate strategy, Craig has the compassion, knowledge, and expertise to create a directive that protects your interests and how you would like your particular situation handled, in the event, you are no longer able to make decisions for yourself.

Guardianship & Conservatorship Procedures:
There are a couple of aspects in regards to guardianship and/or conservatorship – one, of course, is when an individual is appointed by the court as a guardian or conservator. This can be a very daunting task and can seem complicated. The other aspect is that of someone needing the protection of a guardian or conservator and making sure they are properly protected as the recipient of having someone else take responsibility for their affairs.

With proper planning, an older person can avoid the need to have a guardian or conservator. It’s alway best to dictate your terms with proper legal tools as oppose to being dictated by the courts. However, if you are in that particular situation, Craig can help you through the process, prepare the proper paperwork, and provide invaluable counsel for these delicate matters.

Civil Transactions – Contracts, Documents, Leases, Deeds, etc.:
In today’s litigious society, it is important your interests are protected. At the heart, of any business transaction is the agreement between the “seller” and the “buyer” – some transactions are simple, but most are becoming more and more complicated.

You need counsel on your side, one who can review any legal document and give you honest feedback about how it may or may affect your interests. Plus, to be even more effective, is to have counsel advising and working with you prior to making any contractual agreement to ensure your interests are protected from the very outset. Thorough, experienced and loyal, Craig is the best advisor to have on your side.

Military and Veterans’ issues and services:
Our military and veterans face unique challenges as a result of their service to our country. From simple civil transactions to complicated cases regarding delivery of veteran services, Craig understands. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and served his country after graduating from the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

Craig listens and relates to our military men and women. He passionately advocates for them and counsels them when they need someone to go to bat for them, to protect them – because they protect our freedoms every day.

Mediation for Families:
Being a strong family man, Craig recognizes how good counsel and proper planning can help preserve a family’s values and legacy. Unfortunately, sometimes there are differences leading to deep divides within families.

Sometimes the differences are so stark, a caring outside counsel is needed to help determine how the different factions can come to a mutually agreeable conclusion. If you’re faced with such a situation and need legal counsel to help mediate and negotiate a settlement, Craig is that caring counsel to help during these difficult situations.
